September 2011 – December 2011

Being allowed to stay on as Intern Team Leader has given me further opportunity to strengthen my faith and gain more valuable life skills in a safe environment. Continuing to work with most of the people from last year and expanding the family with the new interns, has made it a lot easier to settle back into quite a challenging job. There are more responsibilities in this role that challenge and help you to strengthen your character, but also to draw nearer to God. I have had more opportunities to be independent in the schools and share with more people what God has been doing in my life.

The intern programme is a great way to gain many different skills. There is a diverse range of day today activities meaning that there is always something fun and interesting to do. I have really enjoyed the fact that as interns we get to work in the church with the current team of employees and we go into many different schools, both primary and secondary doing different things. The internship allows you the opportunity and flexibility to work on and develop skills you already have. For example for me I really like English and art so as part of the puppet training I have had the opportunity to make some of the props and edit/write the skits. This internship is more personal to the individual intern giving them skills and life experiences that they need as an Individual as well as a team.

Over the last year I have had so much fun. Working in the church this way is completely different because you are with the same small group of people each day and you develop very good friendships not only with the Intern team but with the other staff in the church. These friendships made my time here much more enjoyable because we laughed together, but also I know that they prayed for the ministry, which also really helped and blessed my time here. I highly recommend the intern program to anyone who may be thinking of joining. I suggest you just pray about it and look to God for the guidance you need.
